Heating Equipment Clean & Tune

The HEAP Heating Equipment Clean & Tune benefit is now open for the 2017-2018 season.  The Clean & Tune program provides assistance to a HEAP eligible homeowner to have their primary heating system cleaned & tuned.

The Suffolk County Office for the Aging is the designated Area Agency on Aging under the Older Americans Act. For over 40 years, Suffolk County Office for the Aging has administered federal, state and county programs for persons 60 years of age and older.

Specific goals for the Office are to develop a comprehensive service system designed to assist persons 60 years of age and older in maintaining maximum independence and dignity, to remove barriers to economic and personal independence, and to provide a continuum of care for the vulnerable elderly. Most importantly, Suffolk County Office for the Aging acts as advocate on behalf of all Suffolk County senior citizens.

2019 Senior Citizen of the Year Award Nominations

The Suffolk County Office for the Aging and the Senior Citizen Advisory Board are now accepting nominations for the 2019 SENIOR CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD. This award will recognize a senior citizen who has enhanced the lives of older residents in Suffolk County. The nominee’s contribution may be as an advocate, role model, leader or volunteer. Candidates must be 60 years of age or older and a resident of Suffolk County. Nominations must be received no later than February 20, 2019.

Senior Celebration Luncheon

The Suffolk County Office for the Aging and the Suffolk County Senior Citizen Advisory Board will be hosting their annual Senior Celebration Luncheon on Thursday, May 16, 2019. The celebration is in observance of Older Americans Month and will be held at Villa Lombardi’s, 877 Main Street in Holbrook, between the hours of 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

We encourage you to register as early as possible because seating is limited. Reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis, until tickets are no longer available. Tickets are $30.00 each and checks should be made payable to the Suffolk County Comptroller. Please use the attached reservation form and be sure to include payment. We regret that no reservations can be processed without payment in full. Please get your reservation in before April 19, 2019.
